41. Tend the Body Briefly
Tend the body, but briefly. Epictetus wants most of your care going somewhere else.
It is a sign of small talent to spend much time on things that have to do with the body, such as long exercise, eating, drinking, and the other animal functions.
These should be done in passing, and lightly.
Give your whole care to the mind.
What this means. A fit body is good. A fit mind is the point. Do not mistake the warm-up for the work.
